Melissa M. Douglas, AIA

Principal Architect

Melissa M. Douglas, AIA has 35 years of experience in architectural design and documentation, with an extensive background in architectural programming, feasibility studies, assessments, space planning, and designing attractive interiors. Detail oriented, Melissa listens to her client’s needs and goals, and strives to truly understand the users of a facility, making sure that what they need and where they need to be is documented and provided, so that those issues become part of the finished product. Using her observational skills, along with her experience in material selection, performance and durability, she helps make spaces not only functional, but beautiful as well.

Melissa is familiar with many building types, new construction and renovations, as well as retrofitting the “spaces left behind” when new buildings are added, and departments relocate. Her experience includes universities, transit, police facilities, hotels, restaurants, libraries, museums, office buildings and retail. A native Texan, Melissa graduated from UT Austin and worked for several internationally known architecture firms in Rome, Boston, and Dallas, before settling to San Antonio.
