Douglas Architects, Inc. was hired as Architect for the Renovation of the existing Hyatt Regency located on the Riverwalk. Working with Looney and Associates, Hardin Construction and AdventPDS, Douglas Architects led a team of consultants from around the country throughout the design and construction on a very aggressive schedule.
Douglas Architects, Inc. developed a scheduled process for meeting and design reviews and coordinated with the city on all Historic Design Review Committee, Code and Fire/Life Safety Issues. This approach was critical in staying in front of issues and making sure important issues were handled in a timely manner.
Scope of work for this project included complete exterior renovation of the porte cochere, sidewalks, landscaping, exterior lighting and signage. Interior scope included public lobby areas, new Einstein Bros. Coffee bar, public restrooms, an expansion to the bar, restaurant, River Walk fountain and lighting, boardrooms, elevator and escalators, pre-function areas, meeting rooms and ballrooms.
